The Former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in the previous administration, Joseph Yamin has said the upcoming Free Senior High School Education will bring jeopardy to our education system in Ghana if we don't pray for God's intervention and yet, people are politicizing it."Indeed Free Senior High School Education per the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) standard is a solution to Ghana's problem". He said in an interview at a Cape Coast based radio station,Cape Fm's morning show known as Good Morning Cape Coast hosted by Amandzeba Madiba.
The aspiring NDC Ashanti Regional Chairman said the source of funding the free SHS is a problem. "The Conference of Heads
of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) says it's hoping to receive the 20% the government promised to give to kick start the free SHS at the close of this week. We are told by the government in the budget that it has allocated GHC 400 million for the free SHS... So if the GHC 400 million is ready for free SHS why is the 20% still not deposited into the account of CHASS?, You should know there is a serious problem." he said.
The Free Senior High School policy promised by the New Patriotic Party-NPP in their manifesto has raised lots of concerns by some Ghanaians including the opposition National Democratic Congress-NDC.
