OBOUR RETAINS MUSIGA PRESIDENCY- MR EMMANUEL COBBINAH, MUSIGA VICE CHAIRMAN IN CENTRAL REGION TALKS MORE

OBOUR RETAINS MUSIGA PRESIDENCY- MR EMMANUEL COBBINAH, MUSIGA VICE CHAIRMAN IN CENTRAL REGION TALKS MORE

On skery spark talk at Yes 102.9 fm, news reached us that Obour who contested for the MUSIGA presidency with Ambulley and Appietus has retained his seat with 88 votes, Ambulley with 22 votes and Appietus following with 18 votes.

The elections began at 10 am in Accra and ended around 3 in the afternoon. It was expected that 150 people will vote including Mr.  Cobbinah who is the vice chairman in Central Region but he couldn’t make it to the place to vote. Most people, about 22 could not vote or maybe their ballots were rejected as well. “All the contestants did well, they all read their manifestos which they explained it very well for us to know that they all have good intentions but what the majority says is what we have to agree on. To me the manifestos of others were better than Obours’ manifesto” Mr. Cobbinah added.

He revealed that the election and congress would not have come off due to some problems. “The MUSIGA structure is now in such a way that the chairman and secretary have power more than any other member. If I, the vice chairman calls Accra that there is a problem in Central region and that they should help solve it, they will call the chairman and secretary to confirm it and if they say it is not true, they take it like that. That is the problem we are facing and this is what has brought a lot of confusion.

The Vice Chairman explained that the congress as well should have come off in Cape Coast This year but only one person went for the meeting and told them that Cape Coast is not organized so they should change the venue whiles he could have consulted us before doing so. He further said that the issue is not with accommodation because there are a lot of venues suitable for the congress but the acting chairman told them at the meeting that Cape Coast isn’t ready so they should do it in Koforidua.

“Everything has ended now let us thank God and ask Him for travelling mercies for those who went to Koforidua for the elections.” He ended.
